From Vancouver to Portland or Portland to Vancouver, either way... get ready to have a getaway blast filled with fun and breathtaking scenery as you relax on Amtrak's Cascades and Coast Starlight. Have a Mother-Daughter getaway, a group of friends, a romantic escape or whatever you want it to be. Stay 2 nights or longer. Experience the Portland downtown walking tour, Voodoo donuts (you can even get married there!), the Chinese Gardens, Powell's Books, the largest independent book store in the world. Enjoy the unique mixture of contemporary and European architectural structures that are delightful to view and photograph. Not to mention the evening dinner cruise aboard the Portland Spirit or all the fabulous outlet and shopping malls. If you are able to spend a couple of extra days, the tour would continue down the famous Oregon Coast to Newport where you can walk for miles along the sandy beaches, and enjoy an evening bonfire with that old time favourite snack "Smors".
Itinerary 1 / Vancouver BC to Portland OR
Day 1
Board Amtrak in Vancouver (or bus, whichever is operating), travel from Vancouver to Seattle, transfer in Seattle to Portland train. Transfer from Portland Amtrak Station to downtown Portland Hotel by shuttle service. Overnight in Portland.
Day 2
Leisure day in Portland to shop and experience the uniqueness of the city, the Chinese Gardens, Voodoo Donuts, or an evening dinner cruise aboard the Portland Spirit. Overnight in Portland.
Day 3
Transfer from hotel to Amtrak station or airport for return home.
Itinerary 2 / Vancouver BC to Portland OR
Day 1
Vancouver to Portland aboard Amtrak. Overnight Portland.
Day 2
Portland walking tour in the morning, the afternoon is free for you to do as you wish. Evening dinner cruise aboard the Portland Spirit. Overnight Portland.
Day 3
Transfer with shuttle service to Newport. Afternoon free to explore then enjoy smors on the beach in the early evening. Overnight Newport.
Day 4
Local shuttle bus to explore the area. Overnight Newport.
Day 5
Transfer with shuttle service back to Portland via Amtrak or airplane.

Day 1
Board Amtrak in Portland to Vancouver. Transfer from train to hotel. Overnight in Vancouver.
Day 2
Vancouver City Highlights Tour or North Vancouver tour including the breathtaking Capilano Suspension Bridge. Overnight in Vancouver.
Day 3
PCL day tour to Victoria and world famous Butchard Gardens. Overnight in Vancouver.
Day 4
Transfer to airport or station for return home.

- Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of $250 CDN per person deposit.
- A complete self-guiding itinerary and vouchers are provided after receipt of full and final payment, due no later than 60 (sixty) days prior to date of Day 1 of your itinerary. (VISA, Mastercard, AmEx, bank draft)

- If applicable, pack an overnight bag for all overnight rail journeys. Safety rules limit carry-on luggage.
