Day 1 — Vancouver

Thursday

The tour begins with a transfer within Greater Vancouver, including Vancouver International Airport, to your downtown hotel. Get familiar with the fabulous city that was host to the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Explore nearby restaurants, theatres and Robson Street, the city's most popular shopping district. Overnight Vancouver.

Day 2 — Vancouver / Rocky Mountaineer / Kamloops

Friday

Today your journey begins with a trip into the heart of BC's interior aboard the Rocky Mountaineer. Enjoy striking views from the dome coach and gourmet dishes. Transfer to your hotel this evening upon arrival in Kamloops. Overnight Kamloops provided by Rocky Mountaineer, breakfast and lunch on the train included.

Day 3 — Kamloops / Rocky Mountaineer / Banff

Saturday

Transfer to the rail station for an early morning departure aboard the Rocky Mountaineer. Travel through BC's vast ranchlands and past sparkling glaciers and the snow-capped peaks of Rogers Pass. The rails take you through the unique Spiral Tunnels en route to the picturesque town of Banff. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight Banff, breakfast and lunch on the train included.

Day 4 — Banff / Lake Louise

Sunday

On the Explore Banff Tour, discover this mountain resort town and see where Banff's history began. See the strange formations known as hoodoos, tour Tunnel Mountain Drive overlooking the splendid Bow River Valley and ride the gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain for panoramic views. Afternoon scenic motorcoach transfer from Banff to Lake Louise. Remainder of day at leisure. Overnight Lake Louise.

Day 5 — Lake Louise / Icefields Parkway / Jasper

Monday

Full-day sightseeing tour of the Icefields Parkway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Breathtaking scenery, from soaring mountain peaks to valley vistas, greeting you at every turn on this renowned 142 mile (230 km) scenic highway. Includes Athabasca Falls, Columbia Icefields Center, Crowfoot Glacier, Peyto Lake, plus a once-in-a-lifetime ride aboard the Brewster Ice Explorer, a vehicle specially designed to drive across the glacier. Overnight Jasper.

Day 6 — Jasper / VIA Rail

Tuesday

Transfer to the VIA Rail station to board the Canadian for an overnight journey to Vancouver BC. Relax in your Sleeper Plus Class car accommodations or the Park Car's scenic dome and lounges. Savour a freshly prepared dinner in the Art Deco dining car this evening. Overnight VIA Rail dinner on the train included.

Day 7 — VIA Rail / Vancouver

Wednesday

Your tour concludes with an early morning arrival into Vancouver's Pacific Central station and transfer within Greater Vancouver, including the Vancouver International Airport. Full breakfast on the train included.

  • Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of $250 CDN per person deposit.
  • A complete self-guiding itinerary and vouchers are provided after receipt of full and final payment, due no later than 60 (sixty) days prior to date of Day 1 of your itinerary. (VISA, Mastercard, AmEx, bank draft)
  • All monies paid are non-refundable. Ask your John Steel Tour Consultant about travel insurance, its coverages, conditions, and limitations
  • If applicable, pack an overnight bag for all overnight rail journeys. Safety rules limit carry-on luggage.
