Day 1 – Vancouver / VIA Rail

Friday / Sunday

Transfer from the Vancouver International Airport to Pacific Central Station for an early evening departure aboard the snow train, VIA Rail's Canadian. After settling in, relax in your Sleeper Plus Class car accommodation or in the Park Car's scenic dome or lounges. Overnight VIA Rail.

Day 2 – VIA Rail / Jasper AB

Saturday / Monday

As you enjoy breakfast in the dining car the train approaches the towering Rocky Mountains. Relax in the dome car with its panoramic views and watch for wildlife and magnificent Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. You'll arrive late afternoon at Jasper, and still have time to explore the charming town, take part in one of the many outdoor activities or laze by a roaring fire! Overnight Jasper, breakfast and lunch on the train included.

Day 3 – Jasper AB

Sunday / Tuesday

Spend a day of super skiing or snowboarding at fabulous Marmot Basin. Known as the best powder ski destination in the Rockies and boasting over fifteen hundred acres of Rocky Mountain terrain Marmot Basin offers excellent skiing and snowboarding. Return to your cozy accommodations for an evening of socializing or recuperating! Overnight Jasper, shuttle and lift pass to Marmot Basin included.

Day 4 – Jasper AB / VIA Rail / Edmonton AB

Monday / Wednesday

Transfer from your hotel to the Jasper Rail Station and departure on the Canadian in the late afternoon which travels to Edmonton, Alberta's capital city. Your destination is the city's most popular tourist attraction, West Edmonton Mall. At almost 500,000 square metres, the mall is the largest indoor shopping and entertainment complex in the world and features over 800 stores and services, not to mention over 110 restaurants and kiosks. Transfer from the rail station to your hotel. Overnight Fantasyland Hotel, at the West Edmonton Mall.

Day 5 – Edmonton AB

Tuesday / Thursday

Today, have some indoor fun at West Edmonton Mall which features Galaxyland Amusement Park, a skating rink, mini-golf, a gigantic swimming pool with slides, and a Dolphin aquarium (with submarine ride). You may need more time to enjoy everything this mall has to offer! Overnight Fantasyland Hotel.

Day 6 – Edmonton AB / Vancouver BC

Wednesday / Friday

Transfer from your hotel to the Edmonton Airport for your departure home.

  • Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of $250 CDN per person deposit.
  • A complete self-guiding itinerary and vouchers are provided after receipt of full and final payment, due no later than 60 (sixty) days prior to date of Day 1 of your itinerary. (VISA, Mastercard, AmEx, bank draft)
  • All monies paid are non-refundable. Ask your John Steel Tour Consultant about travel insurance, its coverages, conditions, and limitations
  • If applicable, pack an overnight bag for all overnight rail journeys. Safety rules limit carryon luggage.
